The full impact of the lace bug on our trees. In April they were still declining, not recovering.
Originally the farm was covered in thistles. We still have them, and December is peak season for them, but the odd one stands out now.
What is going on with this mature oak tree? A small hole has appeared at the base, and fluid oozes out of the hole. Can't be good.....!
Ten year old pine tree strangled itself with its own roots, then snapped off on a windy day
And a week later, this big pine at the front has dropped one big branch, and crushed the fence with another broken branch.
One of many snakes this summer. Red bellied black snake
Another red bellied black snake. This one has made a home in our compost bins. Never sure which bin its going to be on. Peekaboo!
Not a great pic, but that's as close as I am going to get. In ten years I have seen three deer, none in our place. This is in the commercial farm next door.
Early October sugar traps set for queen european wasps.
At the end of Novenber we had a week of storms and heavy rain, just as the paddocks were drying out.
